Yesterday we went on a field trip to the middle school to see what it will be like next year We got to see some of our old teachers like Mrs. Griffey and Mrs. Caudill we even saw Mrs. Cartee . We went to room to room meeting teachers and learning what supplies we will need for next year. I think middle school will be fun but I am sad to leave Laurelville.
D.A.R.E Essay
What I learned is that if you’re wandering about some thing that shouldn’t be put in the human body use the D.A.R.E decision making model which is Define, Access, Respond and evaluate.
What I learned in D.A.RE is that drugs effect the human body in different in many different ways . I also learned that most kids turn to drugs because of depression I also learned that kids mostly use peer pressure to get other kid to smoke for example people say ”You don’t smoke you aren’t one of us”.
I also learned that most marijuana farmers plant their crops in the middle of a corn field or close to running water I also learned that it is illegal to use any marijuana product in the United States. Another thing I learned is Marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more of some cancer causing chemicals than tobacco products.
Most smokers don’t know there are more than 200 known poisons in a single Cigarette. It is also illegal to sell Any tobacco product to anyone under the age of 18. Some people don’t know that smoking is the #1 cause of lung cancer. There is a average of 3,000 non smoker die from inhaling other peoples smoke. Smoker are putting their own family at risk of lung cancer. The most helpful thing that Deputy Thomas brought in was smoking Suzy And mr dip lip.
We also learned how alcohol affect the body. Deputy Thomas brought in the DUI goggles and I was the first to try and I couldn’t walk in a strait line. Then he through a ball and I caught it. That was the biggest heads up to not drink.
knowing all that I promise to always stay drug free.
The way to go
Weird Events In Big Nate Out Loud
Dear Mr McGuire.
I currently finished Big Nate Out Loud and there were many weird events in the book.
In Big Nate Out Loud Nate was talking to his friend Francis on his cell phone while he was surfing then he gets hit by a wave as soon has he says ”I never seen waves so big”. I think that was weird because it isn’t very often that you say something about a object then something happens to you including the object.
Another strange event in the book was when Nate gets kicked out of a band that he created. That happens a lot in bands but that is weird. The only bad thing about that is that he is still aloud to play the hand drums in the band.
Lincoln Pierce did a good job on this book but he did put some weird events in Big Nate Out loud. See Big Nate Out Loud at http://www.amazon.com/Big-Nate-Loud-Comic-Compilations/dp/1449407188.

Sincerely,
Kolton A.
Why I like Book Series
I like series because the series usually have more adventure and more action and also more exiting things. more fun predicting what is going to happen. Then you get to know whether your prediction is correct or not. Example my favorite series are The Maze Runner,Diary of a Wimpy Kid and 39 clues and those books has a lot of action. Series are fun to read because there are more excitement while reading.
Letter to Mr. McGuire
Dear Mr. McGuire
Our assignment today is to write a letter to our teacher Mr. McGuire.
Dead end in Norvelt’s author Jack Gantos did a awesome job on this book because there were some pretty good details in the book that described how the character felt and his or her action. The main character ran a lot and Jack Gantos described how he ran detail after detail and action after action and that was that kept me hooked.
Jack Gantos was on fire when he wrote this book because the beginning hooks you when you first start reading it and its ending is awesome. The way I see it if the author can’t come up with good material he or she shouldn’t be writing books and Jack Gantos did that he was backing up every detail in the book.
Jack Gantos did exactly what I like in a book. He backed up every single detail in the book. That is what I like in books plus a good story. The book was mind blowing.
Characters in My Book
I am reading Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos. The main character is a kid named Jack and he is always up to no good one time he got his dad’s World War 2 collectibles and even his dad’s Japanese sniper rifle and was watching a movie at a drive in movie theater and It happened to be a war movie and he pointed the rifle at a Japanese fighter and shot when it was loaded. That was wild and funny at the same time.
Anyway that was hysterical. Reading that I could figure out that Jack is a dare devil.

The time I had a perfect moment was when my brother and I were wrestling on the trampoline and I was being tossed around like a sack of potatoes. One time he actually picked me up and power slammed on the mat. He tried to pick me up and go again but I got tired of be tossed around like a skeleton so I started to pull on his head and as soon as I did he fell to the ground and I broke free. Shortly after that he back to his feet and I dropped kicked him in his side and he soured to the ground and he said he gave up and I was so happy I fell down with joy.
poetry stinks
To me poetry is like chowing down on dog dodo
To me poetry is like the older brother and sister I never wanted
Poetry means absolutely nothing to me
poetry hunts me down
poetry is worse than homework
poetry is like a city dump for words
poetry tries to get revenge but always fails
Me and poetry get in fights all the time
The reason poetry and I don’t get along is because we bully each other
poetry doesn’t like me and I don’t like it
I hate poetry
